Today was spent hemming and hanging living room drapes in the Yaletown condo, our final modifications to it before Jay moves into it in October. Hopefully our touches will make for a cozy home for him to enjoy over the next few years and his furniture should fit perfectly. The next time we stay here will likely be our last as we get possession of our other condo on September 17 which is approaching fast.
Last week we started furniture hunting and today we picked out accessories; bedspreads, sheets and other decorative touches. When we became fulltimers, we seriously liquidated our assets and unless we want to live in an empty condo, we need to do some major furnishing. Fortunately the 1100 sq. ft. condo is about 6100 sq. feet smaller than the house was and there are a lot less rooms to furnish. On the 17th when we take possession of our stix and brix abode, we will have a couch and chair delivered and in our trailer we will bring boxes of former Moho paraphernalia, a mattress and some lawn furniture. We will also bring our artwork and whatever else we have stored at Karley and Ian’s.
Because I may want to do some painting, the rest of our new furniture, including a box spring, will arrive in mid to late October. We should be well settled in before we take possession of our business on November 30th and ready to get to work. Have I mentioned we are very excited?
