Last night we drove the Moho over to Lindsay, Ontario, about an hour and a half away, where we were having some satellite internet changes made. It made more sense for us to drive there at night so we wouldn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to be there early this morning. We spent the night parked in the parking lot of Tech Mobile (also known as 3i Communications).
This morning our satellite technician, Armand Lalonde, replaced our modem; upgrading it from a 6000 to a 7000, updated the firmware of the system and changed the radio transmitter from a 1 watt to a 2 watt device. He also moved us onto a different satellite; all of this to improve the reception and increase our internet access speeds. On Thursday he will be coming to us in Coldwater to make some changes to the TV satellite system. We recently purchased a HD (high definition) TV in the bedroom (our other TV kept randomly shutting off and we’d made several attempts to repair it to no avail) so last week we purchased a HD PVR (personal video recorder) receiver. Armand will be installing it and altering some of the wiring on the in-motion dish to ensure it works properly.
This evening we drove back from Lindsay and headed into Orillia where we stopped for dinner at Theo’s, one of our favourite restaurants in the area. As we were heading back to Coldwater, the sun was slipping behind the trees and the scene looked very much like this picture, taken by Laura on Wednesday night. Yes, the weather is improving and this is the third sunny day in a row, hopefully an indication of what is in store for next weekend?!?
