apr 5-07.jpgToday was a driving day but because we decided to only go as far as San Antonio we were in no rush to take off. We are adjusting to the time change; we are now in Central Time, but we aren’t adjusting quickly so we are finding ourselves going to bed later and sleeping in longer. It was after 11:00 AM before we actually pulled out of the campground and headed east on Highway 90.

The drive was uneventful; crossing Texas is pretty much like that no matter what route you take and we safely arrived at the Travelers World RV Park in San Antonio at 3:00 PM. We no longer rely solely on the Trailer Life Directory for accurate campground descriptions, preferring to cross reference an appealing one with www.rvparkreviews.com, a more reliable source for a true picture. This park is quite sprawling and we are glad we had a GPS to help us find it because it was not in the most obvious location. There are hundreds of large trees so I anticipated having to use the Tengo Wifi offered here and figured our satellite TV was out of the question. Surprise, surprise! We are able to connect with both satellites even with trees all around us; we got lucky with the clear space between them!Smile

We were last in San Antonio in 2004 with our friends, Rob and Rosanne from Ontario, (it’s hard to believe that was over three years ago) and we wanted to explore it again, this time in the daylight. Rick unloaded the motorcycle and we headed into the downtown area to park and walk along the river, where we’d been at night with Rob and Rosanne in 2004. Downtown San Antonio is beautiful night and day as a result of The Riverwalk and it was nice to return to it. The weather was warm, 25°C (77°F) so we enjoyed a leisurely stroll before having dinner on a riverside patio. We love these kinds of days; great weather, good roads, a little driving in the Moho followed by a little exploring on the bike and a walk down memory lane!
