It seems when we are here in Amish country we are always driving somewhere discovering new places and then returning to the areas we like the most. We have become very comfortable with Wakarusa and Nappanee but today we ventured to a quaint little place called The Village at Winona Lake .
The village is a community built on Winona Lake, a fairly large lake which until recently remained relatively unpopulated. Since 1994, it has been lovingly restored and has become the home to dozens of artisans and craftsmen and an occasional eatery. The lake and surrounding area are very beautiful and the houses and cottages are neat and tidy like the rest of this part of the country. We wandered from store to store admiring the many unique and original items for sale and then we went to the Boathouse Restaurant for a really yummy lunch. From there we drove to Plymouth, another village we had never been to before and then made our way back to Gayle and Graham's motorhome parked near Bremen. The Pla-Mor RV Park is large, green, grassy and very nicely maintained and we are hoping that we will soon be joining them there. We spent some time enjoying their surroundings before heading back to Travel Supreme's service centre in Wakarusa where we settled in for what will hopefully be our last night there. As long as our cabinetry is delivered to the factory tomorrow, we will only have to walk across the lawn when we say goodnight!
