Palm Springs Aerial Tramway |

Since we arrived here in October we have wanted to take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up the 8516 feet to the top. We even rode up to the base on the motorcycle a few weeks ago to “scope” it out and we were looking forward to taking family and friends there when they visited. It never fails though that when we have visitors here for only a week, there are just too many things to do and not enough time to do them. Unfortunately, we just didn’t get there with Bill and Laura but today we did go on the tram with Karley, Jay and Makai. br>It was a perfect day because the sky was clear and there was very little smog (it drifts in from LA) so we could see for miles. We drove up to the base at shortly before 3:00 PM so we qualified for the “twilight discount” and much to our surprise it was very quiet. The day we checked it out on the motorcycle, the place was crazy busy with tourists so we anticipated the same today. The views were spectacular and there was plenty of snow at the top. If we were inclined to do some serious hiking we could have encountered much more had we ventured further into the Mount San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness area. However today, just exploring the snow covered observation decks was as adventurous as we wanted to get, especially with a little one with us. br>Once we rode the tram back to the base, we headed home to the park for a yummy barbecued tuna dinner. Tonight we will be joined by Sarah Hunt, A friend from Orillia who will be driving to Vancouver with Jay, later this week. We had another awesome day and Bill and Laura…we miss you a lot, you would have loved it! br>
