Getting Ready |

With Karley’s due date looming and her physical abilities becoming more and more difficult with her ballooning belly, we are running out of time to do things as a mother/daughter duo. Today, we left Grandpa at the house with Makai while Karley and I headed into Abbotsford to pick up some groceries and have lunch together. A lunch out without a child in tow is a rare luxury for her and it will become even rarer when there are two, so it was a treat she was looking forward to. br>Our afternoon was spent hitting various stores, shopping for cookie making supplies, granola ingredients and food for dinner. We also bought diapers for the new baby and jeans for Makai then we headed back to the house where we found Grandpa reading books to Makai and we learned they’d had a good day together. br>Rick used the rest of the afternoon to put together a bookshelf for Makai’s room and move his old one into the nursery. He also hung a light on the nursery wall and moved furniture around while Karley and I sorted through boxes of newborn and infant clothing. Karley’s plan is to have it all set up and get her suitcase for the hospital packed by the end of the week. Having had a few episodes of “false” labour already, she knows that delivery day could be anytime now and the sooner things are ready, the more at ease she will be. We had a very productive day and with a couple more of them, we will all be prepared for the arrival of Makai’s new sibling. br>
