In anticipation of moving from over 7000 square feet into approximately 400 square feet, we decided to start liquidating our belongings. First, we started with the larger items that we could sell in the Super Shopper, a local buy and sell magazine. It is amazing how much junk people collect with the thought that "someday" it may be useful! We sold used garage door openers, lawn mowers we didn't use, a snow blower, an old phone booth, an antique proofing cabinet stored in the cold cellar and large tools, among other things. Then we decided to list some of the smaller, collectable items on eBay. We sold dishes, plates, crystal, old jewellery, books and knick-knacks that had no sentimental value to us. We planned to have a garage sale in the spring to sell even more stuff and rather than sell the furniture, bedding, linens and dishes we opted to let the kids have first dibs on it. The process seemed endless.
