Recently we have had to say some goodbyes…. Family businesses don’t always work out and as it turns out, ours is one of those that didn’t. It’s not to say we didn’t try but after just three and a half months, Bill and Laura headed back to Ontario. Often with new businesses any money made needs to go back into the business for a while to help build it. For a young, newly wed couple the income here just wasn’t growing fast enough to meet their needs and with the cost of living higher here, Bill and Laura decided Ontario offered them a better lifestyle sooner. We were sad to seem them go and though we miss them, we know they have made the best decision for their lives. Rick has adjusted to life at the shop without his right hand man and the business is booming. We recently hired two new guys and I am now dividing my time between Nerds and AllCare. I am truly enjoying spending more time with my husband and it reminds me of the days when we worked together at Grandview Resort and Coulson Castle. We bought a new desktop computer for the shop and I have been teaching Rick and Darren (our manager) how to generate invoices on it (previously we were using hand written ones) so things are getting much easier for all of us. We have been graced with glorious weather for the long weekend, perfect timing for us as we have finally sold the Moho. The buyers are from Alberta and after flying in here today will be driving it back to their province on Tuesday. The Moho served us very well for five years; we have awesome memories and experiences that we will hold dear forever but it is time for it to go someone else. With fuel prices soaring and our lives so busy, the timing is perfect! Rick brought it to the shop on Friday night and we spent Saturday afternoon and this morning going over it to make sure it was ready for the new owners. More tomorrow....
