Today is the day we finally got the keys for our new condo at Yaletown Park in downtown Vancouver even though we actually became owners two weeks ago. We headed into Vancouver before noon and met with Hement, the key guy, who also gave us a brief orientation tour of the building. We have a fully equipped exercise room loaded with top of line equipment, an underground parking spot and a storage locker as well as a great condo in a prime location. In our minds we envisioned a dozen different scenarios; living in it part time, living in it fulltime and storing the Moho, renting it out or playing in it for the summer and continuing with our plans to fulltime for at least five years. We settled on the latter. There is the possibility that Jay may stay in it for awhile, while we are on the road but for now living in it year round isn’t in the cards. While we were there we walked around; checking out the neighbourhood and getting acquainted with the surrounding shops and businesses. We discovered several new eateries and stores and it was nice knowing we have a “free” parking spot when we wander around downtown. We walked to the closest ICBC office to inquire about changing our driver’s licences. Along the way stopped at hot dog cart and bought veggie dogs for a quick lunch; one of the many things we love about Vancouver (veggies dogs at carts!). When we were in Indiana we bought a wooden balcony set and while at the condo this afternoon, Rick reassembled it, pictured here on our new balcony.
