This morning Gayle, Graham, Rick and I decided to venture to a little town in east central Florida; Cassadaga. This quaint town is oozing with an interesting history and its name means "Rocks beneath the water" in the Seneca Indian language. It was founded by a trance medium, George Colby in 1894. Mr. Colby, originally from New York, was directed by his spirit guide to establish a spiritualist community in the south. Many of the houses have placards on them describing the type of psychic talent the owner has and whether they are open for business. The streets are narrow and one feels like they have taken a step back in time.

Cassadaga is known as "The Psychic Center of the World" and aside from all kinds of psychics and mediums, there are a variety of interesting little shops and a hotel. We wandered around the streets, ventured into the shops and had lunch in the Lost in Time Restaurant at the Cassadega Hotel and Psychic Center. After lunch Gayle and I ventured out to find a psychic. We each had a reading with "Dr. Rob", a psychic medium and spiritual counsellor working from The Purple Rose, one of the many shops. He was gifted and very helpful, answering some questions we each had.

Rick and Graham explored the area while we were having our readings. When we were done they showed us some of the places they had discovered. We stopped at a roadside stand at an orange orchard on one of the side roads and bought some wonderful, fresh oranges and tangerines. Rick even went into the orchard with the lady that ran the place to pick some fresh grapefruits. It was a really interesting day and we all had a blast.
