Walking the Strip in Las Vegas PDF Print E-mail

We are still in Central time in our brains, hence we were awake at 5:00 AM this morning (Pacific time). I was finally able to get my computer to upload my journal entries and Rick washed the vehicles (his favourite pastime, other than driving). After lunch, we ventured to the world famous "Strip" here in Las Vegas. In my opinion everyone owes it to himself or herself to come here at least once in their lives just to see the extent that human imagination is capable of. What a crazy place!

We parked the car at The Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino near the beginning of the strip and walked to the The Mirage Hotel and Casino halfway along on one side of the street so we could come back on the other side. There are dozens of casinos and restaurants and thousands of people of all nationalities from all walks of life. You can rent Vipers, Mercedes Benz coupes, Prowlers and Hummers, take a helicopter ride to see the strip from the air, rent a scooter or enjoy a rollercoaster ride at the amusement park. There are live shows, a wax museum, art galleries and stores galore. What a fabulous opportunity to just gawk and take in the sights!

We wandered into some of the casinos and played a couple of slot machines, which range from $.01 up to $100.00. Neither of us are real gambling fanatics but we had a good time just the same playing the $.05 to $.25 machines. The dining possibilities are endless as well as the price ranges for doing so.

We got back to the motorhome at 11:30 PM, exhausted but happy that we made Las Vegas a stop along our way to Vancouver.
