This morning we were up and on the road at a much better time, 9:00 AM, and the sky was overcast. The temperatures are a lot cooler than what we have been experiencing lately, however they are still quite pleasant with an expected high of 17C (63F). We were heading through the mountains, to a place called Gold Hill, Oregon and figured that it would take us about four hours to get there.

Oregon is beautiful; lush valleys, tall evergreens in the mountains and a mixture of lava rocks, boulders, rivers, creeks and lakes. It is so green here in comparison to the last few states with their deserts, red soil, cacti and sand. Today we passed through ski areas, closed, but still with snow on the ground, then we would encounter vast green fields with large herds of cattle. Oh and I love the signs here; "Rocks", "Livestock", "Elk", "Deer"; simple one-word sentences!

We arrived at Cypress Grove RV Park by 1:30 PM during a brief rain shower. The forecast for almost all of Oregon is "rain" for the next several days but that's spring out on the west coast, so who cares? The park is great; it's clean, very pretty and has great rates so we have decided to stay here for at least a week, maybe 10 days. It will give us a chance to relax, get our taxes filed, defrost the fridge and explore the area. We are near many State Parks and Forests, historic sites, lakes and rivers and it is very scenic. Staying put will be a nice change.Smile
