Yesterday on our way to Tsawwassen we stopped in Richmond, an hour and a half from our destination, at 2:30 PM to meet up with Mike the latest hope for a solution to my Internet problems. It was supposed to be a short stop then off to the park, however after several fruitless hours we arrived at our campsite at 10:30 PM with the system still out of commission. We were tired and frustrated and no farther ahead than we were two weeks ago. It had been a long day and it was dark and late, not an ideal way to arrive at a campground where they weren't overly welcoming.

We had a reservation for the ferry to Vancouver Island set for 11:00 AM and it was only 15 minutes up the road so we didn't have to rush. The sailing was uneventful though the weather could have been better (it was overcast and windy) and we arrived in Swartz Bay at 12:30. We headed for Weir's Beach RV Park, where we are staying for the next two months, a 40-minute drive from the ferry. We have a gorgeous spot, backing onto a lagoon where there are several resident duck families and a pair of trumpeter swans with their signet. The park is an adult only park, located on the ocean with a beautiful view of Victoria in one direction and the Olympic Mountains of Washington in the other.

After we settled in, we went into nearby Colwood for a late lunch/early dinner, then headed over to visit our friends, the Todds, near Thetis Lake Park. We had a great visit playing catch-up on all our news and we set up a date for a longer visit later. We'd had a long day and were ready to rest so we headed back to our campsite and enjoyed an early evening. The weather is supposed to be nicer tomorrow and we are hoping to explore the area further then.
