The forecast here today was calling for rain so we didn't have plans to do much other than relax and wait it out. However, as per usual, the forecast was wrong and we had a gorgeous day again. We decided to go into Tofino but not before checking out a seemingly insignificant, business hub up the road from here first. At the little hub, we discovered a small, though very well-stocked grocery store, the Beaches Grocery, carrying fresh produce, much of it organic, and a full inventory of staples such as fresh baked bread, cereals, grains, nuts, frozen foods and organic canned goods. For such a tiny store, we were amazed at the supplies they carry.

We also found a surf shop, Live to Surf, where surfboards and wet suits are available to purchase or rent and one can sign up for lessons at the adjoining Surf Sister. There is also an Internet coffee shop, the Tofitian Espresso House, where we can go to upload my journal entries and check our email while enjoying a hot cup of organic herbal tea or coffee. Tucked out of site and at the back of the lot is an outdoor restaurant, Sobo. (Since this writing, Sobo has moved into a stick & brick building within the town of Tofino). The kitchen is actually a catering truck but the menu is amazing, featuring local, fresh, fish and produce combined into some delicious selections. The one shop we didn't check out (because we aren't strong enough to resist the temptations) was the Chocolate Tofino shop, which features homemade gelato, ice-cream and sorbet as well delectable chocolates.

The most inviting find there though was Massage Works, where we decided to book a massage each for tomorrow. We can hardly wait!

This "miniscule hub" turned out to be enormous! Surprised
