A couple of weeks ago we went to the Vancouver Flea Market with Angie when she was out here. We purchased a package of Kodak recordable DVD's from a vendor there for a really good price, however when we opened them up this week we discovered that all was not what it seemed. The "package" of Kodak DVD's, though sealed and seemingly legitimately labelled, had only one Kodak DVD in it...the one on the top. All the rest were white and unbranded. Of those, the first 10 have been recorded on with no problems, however the next ones in the stack are defective and we have had to throw them out. We have learned our lesson and all future DVD purchases will be made at a reputable store.
Today, after a couple of frustrating wasted hours with the defective DVD's, we started the process of transferring our home videos onto disc's. The instruction manual that came with the DVD recorder requires a savvy genius to interpret it but somehow together Rick and I managed to figure it out and are pleased with our initial attempts. The most difficult part has been sorting through the tapes that Jim made because they were all mixed up and unorganized but it has been a ride down memory lane for us and most enjoyable. We are hoping to compile a library of DVD's, labelled and recorded in order, which will take up a lot less room than all the tapes we have now. Yesterday afternoon we sat with Makai while Karley worked her magic on one of her client's heads and when she was done we all went for a walk along the drive. The weather was gorgeous; sunny and warm and once Makai was dressed and ready to go, Karley put him in his stroller. Because it was so bright out he immediately squinted in the sun so she outfitted him with his "Baby Ban's"...Ray-ban sunglasses for infants...how cute is that? The things they have for kids these days!
