Last night at 9:30 PM we drove to the airport to pick up Bill and Laura who flew into Vancouver to spend five days with us. We were very excited to see them and after we met them we took a short drive around the city to get them acquainted with the area before heading to the motorhome. With all the catching up we had to do, it was after 1:00 AM before we went to bed and we were exhausted, especially Bill and Laura who were on Ontario time.

This morning no one slept in; we were all up by 7:30 AM and out the door heading for The Naam restaurant for breakfast by 9:00. We had a day of sightseeing planned with Karley and Makai so we rented an 8-seater van to accommodate everyone. After breakfast we picked up the van and headed over to the house to collect our two other passengers and show Bill and Laura where Karley, Ian and Makai live. Our first destination was to North Vancouver, to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, one of Vancouver's most popular tourist destinations. It consists of a large bridge suspended over the Capilano Canyon and has an interesting history originating in 1888. It was a fun way to spend a few hours and when we were done we headed to the nearby Lonsdale Quay for lunch before going back to the house.

Later we left mother and child at home while we ventured up to Grouse Mountain for an evening view of the cityscape. During the day, the temperatures here reached 18C but by the time we hit the top of the mountain, it had dipped to only 4C, which seemed quite frigid to us. The clear skies allowed us to see the beautiful view, which spanned for miles and it was perfect for taking pictures. We put a lot of sightseeing into a short time and evening had only just set in, leaving me with more to write about tomorrow.
