Being “Touristy” Print

Yesterday Angie wanted to relax and bask in the sun and both Rick and I had prior commitments so it worked out well for all of us. I had some private tutoring lessons, then the computer class followed by two Reiki treatments to do in Palm Springs while Rick was detailing a motorhome for someone at the park. As a result of all our different schedules, we didn’t see each other again until suppertime when we went to Josephine’s, the restaurant down the street, for dinner.

This morning after Rick and I delivered the activity schedule, Angie joined us as we went into Palm Desert to wander around the street fair. We haven’t been there for several weeks and were surprised to see many new vendors and the place was busy, busy!! We managed to browse through most of them before we left there to go to Idyllwild, a quaint and interesting town in the San Jacinto Mountains. Despite the rapidly changing weather (it was going from sunny skies to clouds and rain), the drive was spectacular, giving us plenty of gorgeous vistas to view. The town of Idyllwild was as interesting as they get and is a draw for hikers, backpackers, campers and sightseers from around the globe. By the time we left it, the temperature had plummeted in Idyllwild to 4C from the 21C we had enjoyed in the valley and they were expecting snow overnight. Brrrrr.

After enjoying a late lunch at a local restaurant we then headed down the mountain to take Angie to the outlet mall. There, the mercury rose a little to 11C but it was spitting rain and the wind was beginning to blow. We ended our day with a dinner at the Fisherman’s Market & Grill in Palm Springs where we enjoyed our late meal and the air was a balmy 16C. We had a great day, covered a lot of territory and saw some gorgeous country and by the time we got home, it was windy as hell, 14C and we were all tired.
