Thunder and Lightening in the Desert? |

Contrary to what we are often led to believe, weather in California isn’t always sunny and lately the weather has been very unsettled. From the FMCA event in Pomona, our friends Rich and Laura headed west towards Santa Barbara and the California coast. They have been dealing with intensely wet weather ever since and despite us being in the desert, we too have had some rain though not nearly as much. br>Today, we experienced an unusual weather condition not typically found in these parts, a thunderstorm, and though it didn’t last long, when it did hit, it hit hard. Hearing sounds of thunder rumbling came as quite a surprise and the rain came down in sheets, quickly flooding the surrounding area, albeit briefly. br>At the end of the onslaught we were graced with a huge rainbow, an apology gift perhaps from Mother Nature. Our friend Karolyn Hesketh, photographed this as she was driving back from town. br>
