Working Our Way Back to BC |

Last night we went to bed with the intention of sleeping well; we have another long drive ahead of us and it starts this afternoon. Fortunately, we fulfilled our intention and we woke this morning at 8:00 Eastern Time, well rested and ready to go. Rick packed the trunk with the dishes and the roof top carrier with our luggage, leaving room for Bill and Laura’s which would be added this afternoon. Angie and her boyfriend, Christian, came by to see us and then we all went out for breakfast while the oil was being changed in the car. br>At 11:45 we said our goodbyes and headed to Markham where we were picking up our passengers, Bill and Laura, at their place. Bill had called earlier to let us know that they would be able to leave work earlier than originally planned so we met them at 1:00 and loaded their suitcases in the carrier. By 1:15 we were all in the car and heading down the highway. The remnants of tropical storm Ernesto are heading this way, so the sooner we can get west of here, the greater our chances are of missing the nasty weather coming. br>We crossed into Michigan via Sarnia, a nicer border crossing than Windsor, and stopped for dinner in Ann Arbor. For the entire drive we have watched as the storm clouds have been moving in making for an incredible sunset which changed by the second. br>
