It’s No Palace PDF Print E-mail

When you live and travel in a motorhome, it is a rare occasion when you don’t get to sleep in your own bed.

Because we are traveling to BC for Christmas by car, tonight we get to stay in a hotel…or any semblance of a hotel and in our case on this occasion, it is a Days Inn. It’s no palace but we are tired and tomorrow is coming fast so the Days Inn is what it has to be.

We are northwest of Bakersfield in a place called Lost Hills in California and this is the only game in town or at least all that we can find so it will have to do. Besides it will be a sleep and run deal anyway…we have no plans on exploring the area, just getting back on the road as soon as we wake up and they have free wifi!

We left Desert Hot Springs a few minutes before our planned departure of 5:00 PM and encountered only one short-lived traffic jam before getting here about four and a half hours later. We made one stop for gas and a bathroom break and another for some quick Mexican takeout and another bathroom break. So far we have only seen a bit of fog but we’ve heard that there is some inclement weather ahead of us...I guess we’ll see. Good night for now folks!
