Yesterday was a great day; we enjoyed spending some time with the MacLachlan clan, getting to know them a little better and enjoying their company. Ian’s sister, Morag, and her husband, Andy, flew in from Canmore in the early afternoon to join in the festivities making it a real “family” Christmas. We dined on roast turkey, oatmeal stuffing, (both prepared by Ian’s mom, Becky) mashed potatoes, gravy, squash and a cauliflower, broccoli and cheese casserole.

Today Ian’s side of the family departed for Victoria while Karley’s side expanded with the arrival of my sister, Christine, and her husband, Fred, from Ontario. Makai and Monet were quite intrigued by where all these new faces were coming from and where some of them had gone to!

Later, Fred’s nephew, Joe came over to visit (he lives nearby in Abbotsford). Karley met Joe several years ago when she first moved to BC and they had maintained a friendship for a long while. She hasn’t seen him for some time and it was nice for them to get caught up again.

It is visits like these with family and friends that make this time of year so special and we are glad we have been able to be part of them.
