We had to break the news of our decision to the kids and I expected a mixed reaction. Karley was happy for us, but then she was living in BC. Jay was supportive at first, then he changed his mind but Jamie was not happy at all. Angie and Bill were supportive but they had only lived in the house briefly. Jamie had lived in the house for 21 of his 24 years and I knew he was going to have difficulty with it. Jay reconsidered his position and came back to us with his blessings.

I remember having the same reaction when the decision was made to sell my grandmother's house. Her house was the only constant in my life and even though I hadn't been there for years, I was dead set against selling it. What I learned though was that I still retain the fond memories spent at Granny's house and will until my brain stops working. So I know that in time Jamie will understand and forgive us for selling "his house".

I don't believe in coincidence and I do believe that everything happens for a reason. It took over a year to sell the house but we had so much to do before we could start our journey so I'm glad it didn't sell right away.
