When we got home Dana and her baby Noah were there to greet us. Dana came into my life 13 and a half years earlier when she was 16 and Jim had hired her to work in the office at the resort. One spring day, Dana answered the phone and then went out the back door and yelled "Uncle Rick… telephone". I was a little confused when Rick came bounding into the office to take the call. Jim had hired Rick to be our maintenance manager that summer and unbeknownst to us, it turned out that Dana's stepmother was Rick's sister, Gayle.

Dana worked for us at the resort for 7 years and we became good friends and have remained close ever since. The fact that I have since married Rick makes her almost my niece as well. What a bonus!

When Dana married Richard last June we hosted part of their reception at the house. It was a perfect day and Richard and his family are great people. When Dana & Richard announced their pregnancy we were thrilled and when baby Noah made his early arrival in March it was like welcoming a grandchild of our own. He was so tiny yet perfect in everyway. Noah is the calmest, happiest little guy I have ever seen. He laughs all the time and it is obvious that he is a product of a great deal of love.
