Yesterday, in order to complete the decorating and painting of the condo, we needed to go to Ikea in Burnaby and pick up a mirror. We had seen it many weeks ago and knew exactly where we wanted to put it and the time had come to finally get it. However we drive a Mini Cooper and the mirror is 6 feet tall and three feet wide so we knew there was no way that mirror was going inside the car. We had kept the roof racks from the Honda Accord and initially were going to give them to Bill and Laura (they have an Accord). After doing a little research we found out that they would fit our little car with a modification kit. Yesterday we went over to Rack Attack to get the kit, install it and then head over to Ikea. Rick has an uncanny ability to tie things down, in trailers, in the back of trucks and evidently on roof racks rendering the objects completely immovable. He very adeptly tied down our oversized, fragile package onto the roof of our little car and home we went arriving with it safely intact. Today Rick constructed and mounted a wooden valance to go in front of our drapes in the bedroom and then he installed the mirror. Meanwhile I started painting and by 10:30 this evening, we have completed our work. There are still one set of drapes to be hung from a rod that needs to be installed but finally we can start taking tools back to Karley and Ian’s. It is nice to be finished at last!
