Today’s journey took us through the remainder of Wyoming on I-25 and into Montana on I-90; the latter a route we have been on before. The last time we drove along this route was at the end of last summer in the car with Bill and Laura when we were returning from Ontario. Like this time, we just wanted to get to Mission as quickly as possible and we have had no time for exploring. Northern Wyoming and Montana are beautiful and really deserve more time from us but once again, that will have to wait.
We started out this morning under overcast skies but just like yesterday the afternoon brought us sunshine and we had no rain at all. Driving through rolling hills, tall rocky ridges and snow dusted mountains in the distance, made for a stunning trip.
Tonight we are parked at the 10,000 Silver Dollars restaurant/gift shop/motel/RV park just 16 miles (26 kilometres) from the Idaho state line and the Pacific Time Zone. According to our calculations (and the two GPS systems affectionately known as “Nubee” and “Betty”) we are only 500 miles (800 kilometres) from Mission, BC, our destination. When we drove there from Ontario last summer, we stopped overnight at a hotel in Bozeman, Montana. We arrived at Karley and Ian’s at 6:30 the following evening with a 6:00 AM departure and several stops, and Bozeman is over 250 miles (400 kilometres) southeast of here. Even if we had a delayed departure we should be in Mission by 5:00 PM in time to see Makai and Monet before bedtime. We can hardly wait!
