 Well, finally Bill & Laura’s wedding day has arrived! The weather was a mix of sun and clouds and quite cool, which actually was a blessing because it kept the blackflies at bay. The setting was the McKerroll farm at Coulson, just down the road from our old house and so we were in beautiful, familiar territory. Our day started with us moving our motorhome to the McKerroll farm for the night; we wanted to have a quiet haven for Rick’s mom, Bea, to rest in when she wasn’t needed for pictures. (As it turned out it was literally the “hot spot” over the course of the night; the place for our friends and family to come into to warm up in.) When we arrived, Bill, Paul, Jesse and other friends were putting in place the final details (flowers, etc.) and setting chairs outside where folks would later observe the couple exchanging their vows. The girls were at the condo getting their hair done by Karley and their make-up applied by Jessica (Billie’s fashion model step-sister) and the results were stunning. By four o‘clock all family members had arrived at the farm for pictures followed by an early buffet dinner supplied by Laura’s mom Marge (salad provided by yours truly). By 6:55 every guest had arrived and were seated waiting for Laura who arrived in a horse drawn carriage. The ceremony was short and sweet and soon after the festivities (which included plenty of good music, dancing, more food, and even fireworks) began. The speeches provided by the father’s of the newlyweds brought many tears and the humour and love from Jay, the best man, Megan, the maid of honour and Jesse, the master of ceremonies provided plenty of laughter. Cold as it was (and it was really cold) everyone had a blast. Most folks came prepared for the weather by bringing extra clothing and for some of the few who didn’t; we were able to provide sweaters, fleeces, socks and shoes. We are thrilled to welcome Laura into our family; she is the perfect partner for Bill and together they make a fantastic couple. The picture here is of the newlyweds with the bride’s family.
