We were up early with the intention of leaving by 10:00 AM for our new destination, The Riverbend, Class A Motorcoach Resort in Alva, just north of Naples. We didn't actually set out until after 11:00 and we arrived around 2:30.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the different type of RV's (recreational vehicles) available, there are many. There are travel trailers, tent trailers, fifth wheel trailers, Class C motorhomes and Class A motorhomes. Ours is a Class A and resembles a bus, however Class A's come in many styles and prices. Ours is far from the top even though is has many amenities. The most expensive are the Prevost or Featherlite bus conversions. They range in price, new, from $800,000 to $2 + million US.

Here at The Riverbend, there is every type of Class A motorhome you can imagine. They range in price from under $100,000 to well over a million $$'s. This resort is beautiful. Every site has a concrete pad to park on along with "Coach Houses". There are three man made lakes and two clubhouses, one still under construction. The 120-acre property is also bordered by a creek and the Caloosahatchee River. They have tennis courts, a large pool, two huge hot tubs, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts and an exercise room with state of the art equipment. The water is treated with reverse osmosis and there are fountains in every lake. There is an ownership program in effect for those RVers who simply want to stay in the same place all the time and the lots range in price from $69,900 up to $200,000 US. Sales are booming though it is not something I can foresee us ever partaking in. We just like travelling and don't want to be in one place for any length of time.
