My Birthday Print

Today is my 49th birthday and I don't feel any older than I did 10 years ago...or 10 years before that either. My body isn't as flexible as it used to be and I take longer to recover from injuries, but I still don't "feel" older. The time has really gone by fast though and my understanding is that it just continues to do so. Ah, such is life!Smile

We arrived at Sunshine Key Resort at Big Pine Key at around noon. After we set up we headed down to Key West for lunch. I haven't been to Key West since 1991 before Jim died. It has changed a lot with new hotels and businesses everywhere. The sleepy town atmosphere is long gone and there are people everywhere. We parked just off of Duvall Street, the main tourist area, and walked to Jimmy Buffet's bar and restaurant, Margaritaville, where we had lunch. From there we went to the southernmost point in the US to take a picture to prove we were there.

A cold front has moved into the area and the weather is cool and unsettled so we ventured back to the Moho early. We decided to go for a walk at the park, to find a fellow from Orillia, Jimi McKee who we learned stays here for the winter. It turns out that there is a big fishing competition going on here this weekend that Jimi organizes and it was interesting to learn about it. I have had a great birthday!Laughing
