Our friends, Rob and Rosanne, are flying in from Orillia tomorrow to spend a week with us. We are looking forward to spending some time with them and travelling further into the state of Texas. We have been watching the weather and though there is some rain in the forecast for the next couple of days it isn't likely to interfere with our plans because we have some indoor attractions to see. The highway we are close to, I-35, is easy to access and takes us anywhere however from Monday through Friday, it is just like any major highway in a large city in Ontario, stop and go during rush hours. The nice thing is that on Saturdays and Sundays, it is like a ghost highway and everywhere we want to go is but a short drive away.

We haven't gone very far simply because we wanted to avoid the highway and we have been enjoying just hanging out here. The cats are happy too because they can settle into their favourite sleeping spots and we all get into a mini routine. We have met a few people; Ollie from Ottawa with two small dogs and our neighbours next door who are cotton gin owners from Texas with Fluff, their Persian cat. A lot of travellers have pets; mostly small dogs but occasionally we meet others with cats. Sambucca, our black cat occasionally will venture outside when we are there, but as soon as she hears a noise, she darts back inside. Sasha is afraid of her own shadow and her world exists inside only. Fluff, next door likes to go out for a walk at dusk and is content to stay on her leash until she spies someone walking by with a dog.

This is a nice life and one we are adjusting to quite well. We live on a huge continent with so much to see and we know that time just whizzes by. We only hope we can visit all the places that we want to before the day arrives when we have to park ourselves in one place for good! Smile
