Rick woke up this morning feeling a little better, but sneezing, sniffling and sounding worse. We are heading southeast, a side trip, to visit an old friend near Houston, Texas before we start our journey to Vancouver. It is sunny today and the temperature is starting to climb to an expected 23C (73F).

We are staying at an RV Park from our Recreation USA book at $10.00 per night, Convenience RV Park in Willis, Texas about an hours drive from Houston. After setting up, we received a call from Brad, our friend, to say he had secured tickets for us to attend the theatre with him and his new bride Pat. We met them at their house in Spring, a suburb of Houston at 5:00 and from there we all drove into the city together. Houston is a city about the size of Toronto with the same kind of traffic headaches and though they don't experience the snow and it is not on the edge of a lake, hurricanes are always something they need to be wary of..

We had dinner at a fairly new place, in downtown Houston, The Aquarium, an adventure destination that also has a seafood restaurant. What a place! In the restaurant, there is an enormous, round, three story fish tank in the lobby around which the staircase leads patrons to the dining area. It also houses a massive aquarium in the dining level with a large array of fish in it, from eels to stingrays and groupers to sharks. There is an amusement park as well as a large adventure centre featuring a number of different "underwater" experiences. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner then headed over to the theatre where we were entertained to a production of Brigadoon. It's funny because when we owned Grandview Lodge, The Park Street Players performed Brigadoon there over a couple of different summers and I had never seen it until tonight. It was a wonderful performance with many talented actors and actresses. We had a most enjoyable evening and it was great to see our buddy Brad with Pat so happy. Smile
