After having a great night's sleep, we woke up to sunshine and blue sky. We took our time packing up because we knew that our next destination, Biloxi, Mississippi was only a short drive away. We left The Eagles Pass Campground at 11:00 and arrived in Biloxi at 2:00 and watched as the temperature hovered around 27C (80F). The RV park we are staying in for the next two nights is Fox's Beauvoir Road RV Park and Complex just off of the beach in Biloxi. Again, thanks to our Recreation USA membership, we are only paying $10.00 a night for a site with sewer, power and water. The sites are close together but the park is clean, all the sites are paved, there are laundry facilities, a pool, clean washrooms and we are in a great location.

Biloxi is on the Gulf shores of Mississippi in the midst of a dozen casinos, 22 golf courses, over 200 restaurants and harbours full of shrimp boats and deep-sea fishing vessels. The beach, though man-made, is of white sand and is 26 miles long with plenty of free parking throughout. This is truly a great vacation destination with the dozens of RV parks, hotels, motels and B & B's to suit everyone's budget and for visitors looking for culture, entertainment, sports or just plain rest and relaxation.

This afternoon we drove around the area to get acquainted with our location and we stopped at Sharkhead Souvenir City to poke around and to get some postcards. They carried everything imaginable from fudge to clothing to knick-knacks to "live" hermit crabs. It was quite the store! From there we went to the "back bay" where we discovered, much to our surprise, a substantial population of Korean fishermen at the dozens of shrimp boats. On our way back home, we stopped at a local seafood restaurant for a quick meal of seafood chowder and a shrimp salad. We like it here!Cool
(This visit was pre Hurricane Katrina.)
