We were up bright and early this morning in anticipation for our drive to Campbell River. Rick loves driving the motorhome and the two-month hiatus while we were parked in Metchosin was just a little too long for his comfort. The weather was perfect for the four hour picturesque drive up the island to Campbell River and despite it being a long weekend, the traffic wasn't too busy either.

Along the way, we stopped at a scenic lookout along the Malahat highway where I took a few pictures. Vancouver Island has so much beauty and it is constantly changing, that my photography cannot capture it all. We took the Scenic Coastal Highway, 19A, from Parksville to Salmon Point and around every bend we encountered something new with each vista more beautiful than the last one.

We arrived at the Salmon Point RV Park and Marina, after stopping at a little surfside café for lunch along the way. The site we have been assigned is gorgeous. We overlook the marina and the Strait of Georgia where we can see cruise ships go by in the evening. The boats in the marina rise and fall with the tides as much as 14 to 15 feet, so our view changes drastically depending on the time of day. We are about 15 minutes from either Campbell River to the north or Courtney to the south and though the beach here is rocky, it is great for beachcombing.

I have a feeling that we are going to like it here!Cool
