A Rainy Day in Vancouver |

After catching the 12:30 PM ferry in Nanaimo, we arrived in time to pick Karley up from her workplace at 3:00 PM. It was wonderful to see her with her pregnant belly, growing by the day. As is family tradition, we were taking Karley and Ian out for a birthday dinner at a restaurant of Karley's choice so we went over to the house to wait for Ian to get home from work. Once he did, we ventured out to Gas Town for a delicious dinner at a place called the Alibi Room and on the way back we stopped at a gelato shop for dessert. It was a yummy night!
Today we were going to an event hosted by The BMW Car Club of British Columbia with Ian and Karley. Ian has a 1996, BMW 850, which he is trying to sell and by attending this meet hopefully would give his car the exposure it needs in order to accomplish that. Unfortunately the day was rainy, however there was still a good turnout. While Ian and Rick mingled with other car enthusiasts, Karley and I ventured over to the Lonsdale Quay Market in North Vancouver, a nearby walk away. We enjoyed browsing through the fresh food, crafts, jewellery and clothing booths as well as all the shops on the upper level. The guys were soggy and after a few hours we headed back to the house before Rick and I headed home to the island. Even in the rain, the uniqueness of Vancouver cannot be overlooked and we continually find new places to enjoy. It was a good visit, though never long enough, however in just a few weeks we will be back again to stay for a while and we'll take pleasure in discovering more of what the city has to offer while we wait for the baby's arrival. It may be damp here in Vancouver but I think we are going to like it!
