As soon as Angie walked in the door here on Thursday, Sam the cat greeted her with a fond exuberance and it was immediately apparent that she recognized her. Angie is allergic to cats, even Sam (who is supposedly hypoallergenic) and cats seem to know this. For some strange reason, they are always attracted to people who are either allergic to them or have a morbid fear of them. Luckily Angie doesn't have any serious reactions but if Sam gets too affectionate and rubs herself around Angie's face, Angie will get stuffed up but until this afternoon, she has been fine. Angie's friends, Todd Stockdale, originally from Orillia and his wife Leslie, along with their infant daughter Taylor came by this afternoon for a visit. Angie hadn't seen them since last March when she was out here for a short vacation. Since that time, Taylor Jade has gone from being a tiny three-month-old baby to a lively toddler. She was as sweet as can be and through her; it allowed us to see the future with Makai...the inquisitiveness and the fun of a 15 month old and it was a nice visit for all of us. During their visit Sam was sitting in the bedroom, curiously observing us from a safe distance when she decided to get a closer look. Angie picked her up but Sam put up a fight and after a brief struggle, left her arms but not without leaving behind some allergens to which Angie had a slight reaction. We are lying low this evening, eating popcorn and watching movies at home and both human and cat are fine now, with no lasting effects.
