New "Do" Day |

This morning Helen, Rick and I decided to go to the Ikea store near here to poke around before making our way over to Karley's. We haven't been there for quite some time so we had forgotten just how large the Ikea stores are. We browsed around the store for more than an hour and still only managed to see a quarter of the displays. It is apparent to us why there is an in-house restaurant because shopping there could easily become an all-day event.
Today we were all getting new hairstyles while we take turns minding Makai so we arrived at Karley's at around 1:00 PM. He was sitting in his chair when we arrived being rocked by his Mom. Last night while we babysat Makai at the motorhome, we noticed just how quickly he is developing. He has started to grasp at things with his hands and is really starting to study the things he stares at. He smiles a lot and is even laughing now and we are finding that his "awake" time is getting longer every day. He was content to snuggle into each of us as we took turns cuddling him during the styling production. Because Ian will be working late tomorrow, Helen decided to take us all out for a farewell dinner before she leaves on Friday morning. Karley, Ian and Makai met us at Pasta Polo, one of our favourite restaurants in Port Coquitlam. Makai was wide-awake and took turns sitting on his parent's laps while we ate. He spent most of the time cuddling a teddy bear that Nana MacLachlan in Victoria had knit for him when he was born and it has become the first toy he seems to recognize. As you can see, they have become good friends!
